Toy Company Hasbro Now Owns Death Row Records!!

Hasbro has expanded their portfolio buy reportedly purchasing Death Row Records – the record company started by Suge Knight.

Hasbro reached an agreement to buy Entertainment One for $4 billion. The entertainment company, which also owns the animated brands, PJ Masks, Peppa Pig, and Ricky Zoom.

Hasbro are famous for their current brans My Little Pony, Transformers, Play-Doh, Monopoly and Power Rangers. The Game, Joe Budden, Black Label Society, High on Fire, and DJ Khaled have all released records on eOne Music, efforts that now belong to Hasbro, per Consequence of Sound.

“Hasbro will leverage eOne’s immersive entertainment capabilities to bring our portfolio of brands that have appeal to gamers, fans and families to all screens globally,” Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner said in a statement.

Death Row Records was founded in 1991 by Suge Knight, The D.O.C., and Dr. Dre. 

The label became a sensation by releasing multi-platinum hip-hop albums by West Coast-based artists such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, and Tupac Shakur during the 1990s. At its peak, Death Row Records was making over $150,000,000 a year.
